Our comprehensive eye examinations assess your visual health and overall eye condition. We will conduct a series of tests to ensure a thorough evaluation tailored to your needs.
CONTACT US TO BOOKWe will start by discussing your medical history, including any eye-related issues, general health conditions, medications, and family history of eye problems.
This standard test measures your visual acuity, or how well you can see. You may be asked to read letters or numbers from a chart at different distances to determine your level of vision.
We will determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses by asking you to look through a series of lenses while reading the eye chart, ensuring the correct prescription for clear vision.
This test assesses the alignment and movement of your eyes, checking for muscle imbalances or coordination issues that may affect your vision.
Our specialised microscope, called a slit lamp, will be used to carefully examine the front of your eyes, including the cornea, conjunctiva, iris, and lens. This allows us to evaluate your eye health in detail and check for any abnormalities or conditions such as cataracts, dry eye syndrome, or corneal ulcers.
We will measure the pressure inside your eyes, an important screening for glaucoma, a condition that can cause vision loss by damaging the optic nerve.
We may use various techniques to examine the inside of your eyes, including the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels. This can be done through direct visualisation with a handheld ophthalmoscope or with a dilated eye examination using eye drops to fully evaluate the back of your eyes based on your symptoms.
Depending on your age, eye health, and specific concerns, we may perform additional tests such as colour vision testing, visual field testing, or imaging tests like optical coherence tomography (OCT) to further assess your eye health.
After the examination, we will discuss the results with you and provide recommendations for any necessary treatment or follow-up care based on our findings. Please note that the exact procedures and tests may vary based on the purpose of the examination and your individual needs.
If you have any questions or concerns about what to expect during an eye examination, we are happy to discuss this with you beforehand. Your visual health is our priority, and we strive to provide you with the best possible care.
